Open Environmental Kit at MUSAC. León. Spain

2019.05.26 // Exhibitions

26.01.2019-26.05.2019
MUSAC. León. Spain

Open Environmental Kit is a project from the field of Citizen Science. Its main goal is to contribute to a critical use of technology. It is an ongoing open-code and collaborative work that offers citizens the knowledge and resources required to create wearable environmental kits to measure air quality, humidity, atmospheric pressure, temperature, or dust in suspension, among other variables.

The information about the process, materials and code needed to replicate these kits will be available online. Open software platforms and low-cost DIY tools will be used to create the devices. As such, people will be given direct access to environmental information. Besides, an online platform will be developed for the project in which, if they wish, people will be able to publicise the environmental data recorded in the city of Leon with each kit.
